1. What is lead-free soldering material?
Lead-free soldering material does not mean the material is 100% free from lead. Compared with tin-lead soldering material, the lead in the lead-free soldering material is not a matrix metal element. But as an impurity element, lead is inevitable.
2. Patent
All the binary alloy do not have patent issues. The issue lies in ternary alloy and multi-component alloy. The focus is the patent of Sn-Ag-Cu. If the client is determined to use ternary alloy, for example Sn-Ag-Cu alloy, he should choose the soldering manufacturer who possesses relative patents or has the right of using them. Yik Shing Tat has been approved Chinese invention patent ZL 03110895.4 of “ anti-oxidation Sn-Ag-Cu lead-free soldering material”.
So far, Yik Shing Tat is the only soldering material manufacturer in China who has the right of American Sn-Ag-Cu lead-free soldering material.
3. Why should we adopt lead-free electronic assembly or lead-free jointing?

4. What is lead-free electronic assembly or lead-free jointing?
Generally speaking, lead-free jointing or lead-free electronic assembly means adopting lead-free soldering material as jointing material in the process of printed circuit board assembly.
To speak it further, the joined electronic parts and leads (including the layer) and printed circuit board (including the metal layer) must be lead-free.
Specifically, because of the differences of lead-free products and tin-lead products in performance, lead-free electronic assembly must adopt the flux, jointing equipment and jointing craft that go with lead-free products.
